Lesley-Anne’s story
I’ve been trying to figure out the world without my parents. I lost them 12 days apart and my whole understanding of life got flipped upside down.
I became a caregiver at 24 and it was the very best job I’ll ever have.
They were my best friends, my anchors, the lights of my life.
I’ve been finding it most difficult to figure out who I am. I now see myself as two people, the version of me with my parents,
and the version of me without them.
I try to live my life to the fullest so I have plenty of stories to tell them when I see them again.
Finding supports and people who relate to double loss is very helpful to me and makes me feel less alone.
