Bronte’s story

I lost my dad suddenly in May 2022. I still remember the exact place I found out, I was on the way home from work at the bus stop. But one thing I’m so glad I did was I actually called him the day before as mum didn’t pick up the phone for our daily catch up! My dad was shopping in Bath to treat my mum to something special! It was a lovely quick phone call, and it was great to hear his voice then.

I’ve lost grandparents before but losing my dad suddenly, only when he was 58, was an absolutely crushing feeling and something I wouldn’t wish upon my worse enemy.

There are so many things I want to tell him right now, like buying a flat and getting married and how far I’ve come!

Grief doesn’t go away but you learn to cope with it better, you grow around it! It makes you stronger and you live your life to the fullest. I truly hope my dad would be proud of what I’ve achieved the past 3 years!
