WELLNESS IN YOUR AREA

We’ve put together lists of wellness groups across the UK, from creative events, running and walking groups to mindfulness classes. These groups are a great way to meet people and can help you learn new, or practise old, hobbies. We know there will be so many more out there, so if you’d like to add an event just let us know!

LONDON

  • Step by Steppers are a London based run club who go by the motto ‘grief sucks, running helps’. They do regular group runs and it’s a space to meet others going through grief in a different and fun way.

  • Just Grieve is a community built by online content creator Misha Grimes.They host panel events, run clubs and more! Keep an eye on their Instagram for event updates.

  • Metropolitan Walkers is a London-based walking group for people in their 20s and 30s. It’s a way to meet people and explore new areas outside of the city.

  • Self Space created on demand mental health services, on the high street, and they also run events such as walking groups and talks.

  • Feel Good Club is a cafe in the Northern Quarter and they champion speaking about mental health openly, as well as hosting events such as comedy gigs, community events and lots more. It’s worth a visit just for the comforting atmosphere but keep an eye on their events page!

  • Girls Who Walk Manchester are a friendly walking group based in the City Centre. It’s a space to meet new people and enjoy getting outside. They also host different types of events like pottery painting and workout classes.

  • Mad Walkers are a 20s and 30s hiking group of the Ramblers Association for people who live in and around the Greater Manchester area.

  • Eat The Frog are a city center based run club set up to champion creatives, wellness and running.

MANCHESTER

  • Leeds Dock Running are a run group who aim to build community through running - you can find their Instagram here.

  • Take a Hike are a young walking group based in Leeds/Bradford. They are run by volunteers and they also host socials, such as pizza nights.

LEEDS

  • Running buddies is a run club that do a weekly social 5K and a monthly croissant run!

BIRMINGHAM

NEWCASTLE

  • Newcastle Frontrunners is Newcastle’s biggest inclusive running club. They use Gosforth Leisure center and provide a range of activities such as long runs, easy runs and running development.

  • The book club on the second Wednesday of every month. Combining a love of books with the enjoyment of sampling delicious puddings - whilst spending time with other book lovers.

  • Mindful Therapies is a not-for-profit organisation. They are passionate about making the benefits of mindfulness accessible to all. They host a variety of different events from ‘writing for wellbeing’ to different mindfulness sessions based on a topic, such as workplaces.

  • Dip Club are a cold water swimming group in Whitley Bay!

EDINBURGH

  • HWJ is running and wellness club based in Edinburgh and Glasgow! They are more focussed on helping others meet new people, rather than pace, and you can find their Instagram here.

  • Santoa is a cafe that offers different kinds of wellness events, from Yoga to breath and sound classes.

GLASGOW

  • Soulful Sunday hosts weekly events featuring yoga, breath work and a refreshing cold water dip!

  • Whether you’re seeking a moment of tranquillity, looking to learn new self-care techniques, or simply want to socialise with others, the Wellbeing Café is the perfect place for you.

EAST SUSSEX

  • All Things Analogue is an independent stationery and lifestyle shop based in Eastbourne, East Sussex. They run a variety of crafty events, like scrapbooking, getting started with journaling and a collage club.

  • They are a friendly group of younger walkers aged from 20 to 49 who enjoy walking around the fantastic landscapes of East and West Sussex. Check their planned walks here!

Charities that provide local groups

  • Let’s Talk About Loss supports young people aged 18-35 who are bereaved. They host meet ups across the UK!
