A Walk in Memory

On 5th September 5th 2021, more than 150 fundraisers across the UK, Europe, and Asia walked 15km to remember those they’ve lost. It was It’s Time’s first ‘Walk in Memory’ to support the 15% of the UK's adults who lose a parent by the time they turn 30. The event marked the official launch of the charity too!

Here’s what people had to say…

I wanted to support It’s Time and do something positive with my friend Sarah who had sadly lost her Dad, Dave, a few years earlier. Little did I know less than six weeks later I would lose my own Dad. So we walk in memory of Steve and Dave xx

When I lost my Mum in 2012 there was no help offered by my employer. After just three weeks I was expected back at work and to get on with the job. Hardly anyone knew what to say to me. I felt mentioning it made everyone awkward around me. I know my brother felt the same. It was extremely isolating. We were lucky to have friends and family to look out for us but not everyone is as lucky

I lost my beautiful mum four years ago; however, a day does not pass by where I do not feel her presence. I am determined to keep her memory alive so that her inspiring testimony will never be forgotten. It is her birthday a week before this Walk in Memory too, so raising a gift like this to honour her is invaluable to me. I hope that my story can encourage others who have experienced something similar; you are not alone, we are all here for you... to support, talk and share with you
